The book This is a autobiography of Dewey Robertson, a veteran professional wrestler from Hamilton, Ontario, who has wrestled successfully for 4 decades – under his own name, as a costumed hero called the Crusader, and many other names and incarnations. Probably his best know and most instantly recognizable gimmick was the Missing Link, which is why that name will appear in the title. When WWF began its meteoric rise into the mainstream of the entertainment world, the Link was there. Dewey has two major goals for this book. First and foremost is telling the full story of his life and career for his many fans. However, the book will also cover the downside of success in the wrestling arena. As Dewey began the career ascent that led him to the high point of the Link, he also fell into two of the traps that lie in wait for the vulnerable: steroid use and drug and alcohol addictions. This book will also be the story of Dewey’s recovery from addiction and the lessons he learned from it. He hopes to help other people struggling with the same issues by sharing his experiences in this book. Now Dewey is ready to share his story with a wider audience. He wants his old fans to know that their hero is winning his most difficult fight, and he also wants to reach out to people before they start struggling with the same issues and demons that lead him down the path of addictions. He hopes to show people that a positive attitude, ambitions and goals can help them find the links that are missing in their lives and put them on a path to a clean, sober and healthy future. |
